HISTORY / ORIGIN

Well cementing has been practiced since the early days of the oil industry. The first documented use of cement in oil wells dates to the 1860s. Early cementing was done by simply dumping dry cement into the well, but this method was unreliable. In 1906, Erle Halliburton revolutionized the industry by developing a method to pump cement slurry down the well. His company, Halliburton, became a global leader in well cementing. Over the decades, cementing technology has advanced with new formulations, additives, and placement techniques.
